Rotary Youth Leadership Awards
RYLA, in Rotary, stands for Rotary Young Leadership Award. It is an instrument to implement and support events for young people both on the level of single clubs and districts. Mostly, these events are day seminars, weekend conferences or camps that can last up to a week.
On these occasions, carefully selected young people with leadership potential acquire a range of skills that will help them in their future executive positions: how to build a network, exchange ideas, motivate for actions etc. Participants can be of different ages, but most projects address students in secondary school or in their early years at college. However, other formats have proven useful in the past, like seminars for youngsters living in precarious or socially disadvantaged conditions – or for Interact or Rotaract officers.
Rotary District 1860 supports the project.
